Title: help to indentify a suspesion arm please
Post by: avalaugh on October 03, 2006, 12:31:24 AM
my rear suspension is buggered all knocking etc, the main prob is the arm from under the shock that goes across to the hub, it has the trailing arm attached in the middle too ?

what is the actual name of this component please !

also does anybody know of a place that will fit a full set front and rear polyurethene bushes in the kentish area ? i have fitted these before on my subaru and vowed never to do it again as it took so long just using my vice haha

thanks

I am having simlar knocking suspension problems but I haven\'t been able to isolate it (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29877).  I have the manual at home (in digital form) so will post up the diagram of the rear suspension this evening.

How did you isolate the knocking to that particular suspension component?

As for bushes, I usually head to RE:Worx in Portsmouth - I don\'t know of anyone in the Kent area.  Maybe a local Mazda garage?  http://www.mazda-accessories.com/ have a good reputation for parts, not sure about their garage facilities, I know they do MOT\'s.

I changed a bush on the left rear A arm last night, really easy (20t press handy!)

Hope this helps :)

yes very handy for you! haha

i identified the noise after i had replaced both my rear wheel bearings, when its up in the air with the wheels off put the hand brake on and move the hub front to back, mine are very bad and i can actually see the bush moving in time with the knocking.

mine also knock when i hit bumps, apply brakes/let off as well so they are definatly seen better days.

ill be in touch with geff then and get a full set fitted :Giggle

My manual pages are slightly different to Ricco_04\'s.  So here they are anyway, with the corresponding name sheets.

Let us know if replacing the bush solves the knocking sound!

The 26-230 sperical bearings arn\'t included in the full kit. Rx7 club are doing a group buy through malloy mazda at the min. The arn\'t cheap !

You need to replace them as well if you want it to improve the rear end. Also Re-worx are sorcing the bush that the antiroll bar and strut are tied to.

I\'ve just done the whole lot, front and back. Getting re-laser aligned at the weekend at wgt.
