Anybody know a good place to get an exhaust gasket at about 80mm? My old ones are dead!
I\'ve got the new exhaust on but it has a small 1mm gap at the top, rather than a flush mount like || its more \\| I\'ve bundged it around for hours and its the best I can get with my down pipe. Never had any probs before in fitting exhausts before. I don\'t have a gasket in there now so I\'m wary of running it with this tiny gap. Any suggestions, as I was thinking about a bit of exhaust wrap or can you get gaskets that are slightly thicker one end that the other?
Have you tried the ovious ones (Reworx,WGT Dragon etc) worth a phone call.
Spoken to a mate who recommends having the end cut and re-welded be the best method. Thats fine but means I\'d have to take that bl00dy diffuser off again!! Surely theres an easier method?!
You could cut it and reweld it but you\'d still want a Gasket in there.
Before now i\'ve bent exhaust pipe to make it fit better (usaly when its knocking on the floor) if take the cat back off and bolt the mid pipe up to the down pipe then you can warm it up well (Oxy bottles) about 2-3 inches from the joint you can bend it into the correct possition quite easly. (thats as long as the Flange its self isn\'t warped, then if its a good it may be possable to use Exhaust assembly Paste.
Or is it the Flange thats Warped? so there is a Gap at the top??
I think the reason it\'s a tough b@st@rd to fit is its all one piece from the exhaust tip to where it joins the down pipe!
Good idea though I\'m sure a slight bit of bending will make it a perfect fit!! Only needs a tiny bit to make it fit. I\'ll take it off tonight and do a bit of see-sawing with my bro! BTW whats an OXY bottle?! Those little hand held welding things?
LOL, Ok i ment Oxy Bottles (kind of Slang for Oxyacetylene welding Bottles) There used for gas welding and are realy Handly for putting lots of heat into Seized Nuts/Bolts and supply lots of heat for Bending stuff like Exhaust pipes :)
Have a word with Iain at Hayward and Scott (Basildon) he\'ll be sure to recommend something.

I\'m pretty sure reworx have 80mm ones advertised on their website.
