Title: autopsy of 13b
Post by: arrouk on September 26, 2006, 05:56:58 PM
as some of you know my engine lost compression on the rear rotor a couple of months ago, after only 9000km!
well i have now removed the engine, stripped to a bare block, and with the help of other members stripped the block.
i just thought i would report back as to what was found, while stripping the ancillarys off the motor i found i had a split line from the omp, this will have been my slight oil leek which i had attributed to the sump, a lesson to all perhaps. when the block was split down the rear rotor was found to have been running lean and was very dry. after a quick inspection the first impressions were that the engine failed due to lack of lubrication.
although upsetting just one of those things and nothing untoward.
