Post by: trotter on September 25, 2006, 05:54:59 PM
well first things first, just joined the forum so should probably say hi 2 everyone :WaveBye

Been popping into this site every now and then for about the last month or so and im amazed at how much everyone on here knows about the awesome rex!!

Finally got the news i\'ve bn waiting for 2day...got accepted back into uni and with an 8k grant coming my way :)  i can now start counting the days \'til i get my FD!

Gonna do a lot of research over the next few months to be sure that the one i get is worth the loss of social life needed to fund it, so i shall apologise in advance for all the irritating q\'s i\'m gonna be bugging every1 with :Typing  :wiggle

Welcome to the forum.

You will be sure to enjoy your FD, 2 points to make:

Be sure to have a look at the cars for sale on the forum, especially from paid members, as you are then almost certain to get a GOOD car from an honest seller!

Secondly, the majority of your questions will be answered by using the search button above, just to save you some time.

Good luck!!!

not that bad though....lowest i\'ve been quoted so far is about 1k for a twin tub. Thats with 4 years NCB.

A grand sounds like a lot, but when you consider my first year fully comp at 17 on my 1.3 fiesta was £1700!!!:2Mad

btw...read up on the cheap supercar insurance loophole...get insured on a cheap car fully comp (fiesta, micra etc)...n itll allow you to drive any other car with that policy as long as the insurance company allows the \'drive any car\' clause...i.e. rx???

That only works if the other car (FD in this case) is insured and your still only insured 3rd party only on it. Not the way to go and normally only avaliable to people over 25.

Also when i first got the FD insured when i was 21 it cost me £2k with no mods, just make sure your carefull with insurance and steer clear of Highway if ya can. (see Blitzboys thread on them)

why steer clear of \'highway\' m8??? i insured my gc8 scooby with them previously and they were reasonable??? do they give trouble when claiming cos i never had the honours...lol

I\'l let ya read through the link above (few pages), bottom libe for Mark was they are refusing to pay out, even though he declared every mod and paid an extra premium to insure them mods.

I must confess though i have had to claim recently for my Golf and they where ok to me, but then again it\'s not exactly a performance motor. Even so i will not be renewing the golf\'s policy with them.

Mind you hope to never claim again, :Giggle .
