There\'s a thread about removing the air-pump, and I think it has some information there.

It\'s bolted to the top of the lower inlet manifold (LIM), you\'ll see it when you take off the UIM.

I can make you up a blanking plate if you want?

Are you going to remove the airpump as well?  If so I can make the other two block-offs if you need.

:)

You can remove them and remove the solonoid.

:D

You will need to check the FSM and plug the connector with a resistor :)

How did you manage to get the 3rd nut off of the ACV??
I can\'t seem to get any room in there to turn a small spanner around?
Is it just the 3 nuts holding it on??

When removing the acv do you take of the solenoid aswell or just bolt that somewhere els and leave it connected ?
also the vacume pipes that you disconect do you blank them off or can you just leave them open ?

thanks

Keep the single solenoid, just make a bracket and fix it elsewhere.

As for the pipes that used to go to the acv, it\'s preferable to remove the associated solenoids (2) but you can blank them off if you want. Just fold the pipes in half and cable tie the ends to make them air tight

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but Im just going through this process myself. Ive got everything off and the blanking plates in place, but I have a question regarding the solenoids. Are they ok left in place but just venting to the atmosphere, or should I unplug the electrical connectors. Seems a lot of effort to physically remove them.

Cheers....

Unless you have access to a milling machine its probably cheaper to buy them from somebody. I got mine from Ed RX7 on here for £30 including bolts. Quality and fit is excellent.

You can buy templates for about £25-30, or you can make your own. Just draw around the parts that you take off and transfer that outline to some aluminium. You wanna use some 4mm+ thick ali though. As for the solenoids being left in place, it\'s fine as long as you make sure there are no pipes venting to atmosphere.

cool ill do that, i have friends who want to see a smile on my face again that will do this for free. owwww! cheers all. just thinking unless you want to save weight theres no point in removing all this stuff is there, any cooling effect will be negligible surely?

I know this is an real old thread but anyway. Where is the acv in the pic is it the whole chunk above the LIM, as my blanking kit has 4 pieces and I dont know where they go
