welcome to the world of RX7. [is yours a coup or a vert.]
need a bit more info to help:-
will it move at all if you move the head light switch or the overide switch, and was it working when you got the car? will the head light work[light up]
its prob. a bad connection as the motors are generally reliable.

Hi. Mine is a 1987 coup.

Light does not move at all when i use the switch (left works fine)
Where is the overide switch?
Light did not work when I bought the car although it does illuminate.
hope this makes it clearer.

is it defo. a T11 as i think they started in 1988 [do you have a pic.]

the over ride switch is a black round knob above the main light switch about the size of a 2p piece which you turn to activate the head lights so they will pop up but not light up [  in bad weather ie. ice, snow you don\'t burn the motors out if the mech.  is frozen up] check on the good one where the power feed is when you turn this switch and then check the bad one to make sure it has power.
good luck

If the wiring is sloppy round the back, then it can jam the mechanism - take the covers off and do a quick check, and then try retracted the light manually.

To do this:

1) Take the retractor fuse out !! - don\'t want it springing into life when fingers are in there!:Hammer

2) Under the car there should be a black rubber cap - pull this off, and then you will find the manual retractor knob underneath

3) Turn the knob - can\'t remember which way it works - but you\'ve got a 50/50 chance.

4) Check the mechanism for jams.

You might also want to check the connector for the motor - could have come lose or got corrosion on the contacts.
