Title: Considering 3rd gen rex
Post by: Dave C on September 22, 2006, 10:50:03 PM
Looking at getting rid of my fto and getting something with a bit more tuneability. I\'ve loved the rex since I got into jap cars and am seriously considering one as a weekend toy. I know the engines aren\'t exactly the most reliable of things but after reading the board for a couple of weeks there seems to be a lot of expensive horror stories going on. If I get one I won\'t be clocking that much mileage up as it\'ll only be used for the odd weekend and shows but I don\'t want a car that\'s gonna be on the back of an rac truck everytime I go out in it. I\'m gonna have about 7k to spend on one, am I gonna be able to get one that aint gonna cost me a mint in repairs at that price?

You\'ll be able to get a very decent rx for £7K as at the mo the market is quite low for rx prices so good for you :Laugh

Example you ask ?? here you go:

welcome to the natural japcar trail. I swapped from a GPX FTO just over 2 years ago and never looked back. The fto is a nice car but the rex is in a completely different league. The rx7 has loads of stuff available for it (fto had nothing) and is just awesome !

Plus do you go to mascarat on the 2nd monday of the month ??

Yep, go to mascrat every month mate. Looks like the rex is the car for me, it was either a toss up between an fd or a 300zx
