finished doing the rats nest(well the ones i can get too).
all i need to do is fit new belts and fire her up,see what happens after that.
rats nest not that bad as long as you do 1 at a time, but when i have to take the enigne out ill do it properly i.e the ones you just cant do with it in situ.
will let you know if she runs ok or not
you can change pretty much all of the pipes with the engine in situ...youll have to go under to get at the ones on the actuators....just remember to replace the boost pills in the two hoses which have them. While youre there, you might want to check the condition of your coils while theyre off.
^ Yep,
I\'ve changed everyone on mine, but then I did have the fuel rail and everything else oiked off :)
Good luck with it!!
got her started but still no airpump running(but if you bridge the relay it does).
took it for a quick spin and she just didnt go right at all put teh foot down and it hesitated and banging and went all jerky.
so out with the old ecu in with the pfc, going to buy pulleys and remove airpump all together.
so she`s jacked up in work all wheels off and ready for sdome tlc.
once i get bits i need form nurspec and ebay its down to pip`s for a remap and sort out.
hmmm...see from experience of a dodgy airpump, that doesnt sound like its a problem caused by having no airpump. I had hesitation and banging and jerkiness...one of my tips had chipped then....not saying thats what happened to yours tho
and the only way to check it is commpretion testing it
yup...Im sure yours will be ok....im just saying that for a while i was in denial that a ti had chipped cos I thogut "well the car is starting up ok both hot and cold" ....but sure enough when the engine came apart!
Check for CEL Codes first!!!
The map sensor is in I take it?
Air pump switches off at 3k so if thats where the problems happening then air pump is not your problem. I Ran my car fine with no air pump for months too.
If your air pump works with the relay bridged that means that the relay has gone. This means your air con doesnt work and as such your fans will be running at a lower speed. Does your car overheat?
Get it compression tested. When was teh last time you changed your spark plugs?
ive changed the pump relay for the fog light one and still nothing.
pump doesnt run at all(starting not to worry about it)but car is chucking loads of fuel out on tick over(loads of eye burning smoke)
spark plugs and leads changed month ago.
commprestion wasa donre and told engines fine
also if any~(dont think i have)got any pipes in the nest wrong way of check valve wrong whats the simptoms)
well started car yesterday and the pumps running.
ive put on the apexi ecu so i think my ecu was to blame.
is it ok to run it as is(been de-cated thats it)
or will she have to be mapped.
seem to be loads of fuel still coming out of exhaust so no sure
what readings on the commander would help me??
Check valves - wel they mainly deal with the sequential turbo control so you wont really get any running issues apart from in boost id imagine.
Have you had a coolant pressure test btw?
Also what were the results of your comp test? Was it done using a mazda tester? Who done it?
You say the ECu was to blame? What are you saying it was to blame for?
And get the apexi mapped if its been decatted id say.
you will need to get the Apexi ecu mapped if you want to run any real boost as when you first install it, it runs on a basic air/fuel ratio setting which is on the rich side, hence why you smell so much fuel... the basic setting leans out when the car is boosting and especially more with a decat..
so no chance of taking it to scootish meet
even if i drive slowing??????????????????
i promise not too drive her hard
driving it normal just keep the boostinh to a minimum . apexi FC base map is richer than stock to accomidate your mods a little
yeah well as long as i get calipers now should be fine
polished it al up looking not to bad so stroll on the 15th see you all at the mc`ds 11.30
yup
see devil is having a few issues now check scottish meet
bummer hopefully be able to help him out some how
