Title: Well - back from RE:Worx
Post by: strange_days_uk on September 20, 2006, 04:19:28 PM
As some of you may know the FD went to RE:Worx over monday and tuesday.  Spec before this date:

apexi intake
full decat straight through exhaust
Greddy boost controller Profec  II
Apexi Power FC
(maxxed out injectors at 6000 rpm at 0.8bar)

Here is the chart from last time

They carried out the following:

Install HKS FMIC kit (2 row)
Install Apexi GTR fuel pump
Install 850cc primary injectors
Install Fuel pressure regulator
Install coolingmist water injection kit
Install ARC Racing low temp thermostat (open fully at 75 degrees)
Full service

Had to change the apexi filters for HKS ones as the apexi ones will not fit under the bonnet with the FMIC kit

And here is the result

There is some fluctuation in boost at high revs at 1.0 bar when where this was mapped at.  Max said it was down to the boost controlled solonoid, I suspect the unit has had it so will be looking to get a new Profec B II whichever is newest.

Can\'t complain at all. Car feels very much quicker, especially on the second turbo.  Lovely low intake temps, only prob is I noticed higher water temp on the motorway coming home.  Not too much of a prob though, and I think on cold days it will hold at 75.

Was nice also to see Nurspec and Kermit down there at the same time.  Always good to put faces to names.

Don\'t worry they will be winging their way to you soon.

Think my 350 figure was slightly optimisic !!

The fuel pump was big money, over £300 plus the vat.  Had no choice on the day but to get one..

The lowest intake temp I saw on a burst of water was 33, that was with coolant temp around 90.

Martin.

First time I went down there to have it mapped, I was actually scared by the noise.  And I half thought the thing was gonna jump off the rollers and career accross the workshop lol!!

Yes, it is loud.  Too loud tbh I would like it a little quieter, but I ain\'t gonna sacrifice no power so will have to make do oh well...

Thats alot of cash for a 30hp gain...as long as your happy with it, howcome you went for that pump rather than the bosche one?

Well it transpires that it would be sensible to get a swirl pot with the bosche, because you can experience fuel cut if you have low fuel level and go round bends, Geff said that the Apexi pump (having been modified by HKS) would not require this.

I was looking to get a proper job done no half measures so went with the Apexi.  I did spend a tidy sum of money for the experience.  But I was also getting a full service, and was desperate for a front mount just to keep my intake temp down, might as well get WI at the same time :-)

hi mate, can u tell me a bit more about the arc low temp thermostat?

I currently have a koyo radiator standing upright behing my greddy FMIC, i find the water temp tends to start at 72ish, climbs to about 94 before fan cuts in, then lowers and gradually builds up again.
Obviously if theres open road and/or high speed its more constant, but otherwise it always doing the cycle.
Is this why u have replaced the thermostat? Is it v.expensive?
regards matey

I bought this one here RHD Japan (https://www.rhdjapan.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=1427)

RE:Worx didn\'t charge for installing it as they had already emptied the coolant for moving the rad.  I don\'t imagine it would cost very much to install, could probably do it yourself with a fair degree of ease.

Hope that helps !
