Title: Idling high/rough?
Post by: Shaq on November 22, 2003, 02:09:30 PM
I thought I would clean the inside of the throttle housing (where the butterfly valves sit) I removed the intake pipe and when I inspected the butterfly valve I found it to be full of oil deposits really sticky so I thought I would give them a clean with a can of wd-40 I would have used carb cleaner but didn’t have any,

I put it all back and now it’s idling high about 1,200 rpm?
I have checked everything its all fine don’t know what could cause this??

Any ideas ?

thanks

Check the cold start mixture screw  at the back of the uim when you took the elbow off you might of hit it so it\'s running as if it\'s on cold start. This is the one just above the oild filter not at the top of the uim. Check the screw is actually touching the piston  and there is no gap if there is just push it up.
