Ive Been Thinking?(i Know Very Hard Thing To Do)
I Want A Bigger Intercooler But Dont Want To Spent Loads.
Is It Possible To Get An Intercooler Off A 3.0litre Diesel Or Something, Modify It And Put It On An Fd?
Anyone Tried This?
Im Thinking Volvo V70 D5 Or Something
Depends if they\'re comparable in size. Where are you mounting it ?
Why don\'t you mount the SMIC you got off me at the front, keeping the original in it\'s place, and produce some custom pipework to link the two together ?
Double the cooling....
Alternatively, someone on the forum as a \'reverse\' V-mount, they mounted the IC flat to the undertray rather in the engine bay....
Double Cooling Eh!
Sounds Good, It Could Be Done!!!
Anyone Done It Before?
Only reasons I can think not are
a) difficulty in mounting two units in terms of location and pipework
b) heatsoak from originally mounted IC when idling negates the benefits
If these can be bypassed, then could be a nice experiment.
The reverse v-mount was one I was particularly interested in, since it doesn\'t affect the radiator and avoids the IC being located in the engine compartment.
You could also mount both at the front, vertically in the airdam, but leave a gap in the middle so there\'s cold airflow for the rad.....
What Would Be Best, Serial Or Parelel Set Up Of Intercooler?
Would This Not Be Restrictive Having 2 Intercoolers?
??
Probably is, which is why no-one else has attempted it apart from lack of space under the bonnet.
The pipework is probably complex to mate up efficiently too.
Here\'s the reverse v-mount thread, first page and look for Antnicuk\'s post with pics. Interesting.

Do We Know The Size Of The Inlets On The Intercooler, I Could Compare Them To A Bigger One From Another Vehicle
