Title: Just had its first service. :)
Post by: agroupuk on September 16, 2006, 04:32:12 PM
Well the car had a service - I got Pip @ WGT to give it a thorough going over and its had a few bits replaced.
I had an ali AST fitted and a couple of new belts (power steering and somehting else ... i forget lol) A nice shiny ali Oil Cap shaped like a rotor (very cool i thought hehe) and all the usual stuff changed.

I can recommend Pip - he was a lovely chap and he didnt mind my stupid questions whilst stood practically over his shoulder. The receptionist (Dave\'s missus I think) was also very nice and plied me with coffee while I waited.

The new premises are very good btw if anyone who uses pip hasnt seen then - really easy to find for me (just 3 roads off the motorway)
I have never seen so many rex\'s in one place before and it was quite cool to look em all over while wandering around outside pacing off the nerves and hoping everything was fine.

Also while there I met Donato who was selling his beloved red rx to a nice young chap from wales. It was certainly nice to meet someone so prominent from the boards.

Also met Jurgen (yurgen? hmm not sure) who brought down that beast of an MR2 he put on the forums a while back (blue with body kit) and he was having it dyno\'d. 480 safe BHP if I remember right...... a bit of a beast.

Anyway - was an interesting day out and I hope to use Pip again in the future when I need anpther service or whatever. Highly recommended.

Oh one last thing - Pip diagnosed my weird snaking on the motorway as bad wheel alighment etc and advised I had the cars geometry reset. Thats next then :)

Attached are a few pics from my little trip down.

Cheers !

PS If anyone is wondering the big yellow car was a Marcos.

Lol Kermit :)

Had its MOT today.

MOT centre called me to say it failed on emmissions.
I can put the figures up - but basically after a little \'chat\' he passed it.
Figured he tested it with a cat test... you live and learn. Anyway Pip from WGT talked me through lowering the fuel at 1000rpm if I needed to but in the end I didnt.
Pip thought I could probably do with the co2 or o2 tank or something (I forgot already) looking at as one of the emmissions was a touch high even for a decat test.

Now I have it booked into a local tyre and wheel specialist for full alignment and geometry checks on saturday at a huge £100 - £120 cost lol - better than dieing on the motorway as it feels like a bucking bronko when it hits a rut or bump.

Apologies Twistedhumour for forgetting you forum name but it was a long day and I have a memory like a sieve. :)

Anyhoo - I will update as I get it done hehe.
