That\'s your oxygen sensor, you\'ll want to get a new one and wire it back up
where would I get a new one? what problems could that cause? and where do I wire it to?
Are there any signs of the wires that went to it in the area? You can buy generic O2 sesors and just splice them in http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lambda-O2-Sensor-Oxygen-Sensor-Universal-3-WIRE_W0QQitemZ200023589377QQihZ010QQcategoryZ21654QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem seeing as the wires have been cut you might aswell do that. Will be cheaper than goin to the stealers. Can\'t remember how many wires go to it though without checking.
We have the Mazda ones here
http://www.rotaryart.uk.com/acatalog/New_3rd_gen_engine_perf_tuning.html
about a third of the way down
Will need to look later. Could not having this linked up cause any problems?
Poor idle, overfueling possibly
If someone fitted a wideband one further down the exhaust, then this one maybe redundant - it could also be an EGT - Exhause Gas Temperature probe - wire might have been ripped out at some stage.
It\'s possible to run without the lambda sensor if you have an aftermarket ECU (like PowerFC) and have it mapped open loop.
yer I have a powerFC, duno if its setup to do that tho... I will enquire!
