Hi all,
Well I managed to ditch the car on Sunday morning. Luckily it was mid convoy to Trax with fd:uk so we got the car out intact and started first time.
It might have been standing water, oil or something as it was very low speed and slow (15/20mph coming off a roundabout) so that was lucky but it did fall backwards down a ditch in the end.
The bodywork is fine and everything and the car runs fine it just feels a little held back, I thought maybe the brakes were locked on but the car will role on a slight slope with no brakes so just wondering if there\'s anything else I should check?
I\'m going to get it jacked up and have a look tomorrow night but just wondered if there\'s anything else to check?
Cheers!
Is it revving strangely? Might have gone into limp mode?
If so apparently disconnecting battery for 10 minutes and reconnecting will reset ECU...
Might not be the prob, but worth trying just in case?
Cheers
More than likely you will find you have bent your exhaust!! this will create shed loads of back pressure and result in the car being very slugish (Just like driving with binding brakes!!!)
Check that, if it\'s all straight, make sure the exhaust hasnt had something ramed up the exhaust from the off as this will have a similar affect!!
Hope this helps,
Jono
It\'s definitely the exhaust....it\'s a got a hole in the piping behind the backbox :( Bloody HKS crap mild steel has rusted through and ditching it probably opened it up.
And just as my MOT is due, grrr....
Do what I\'m going to do.... if you have a S/Steel back box and steel from there forward.... Takie it to someone like longlife exhausts, or a stainless exhaust place and say.... I want to keep the rear can and have fresh from there forward!! Had a quote of £200 I think it was!!!

Cheers for that mate, never thought about that...still the HKS backbox is a stupidly massive thing so I\'ll see :) Getting a quote on a repair tomorrow.
Bit late for a reply now, but Copie and our mate Alex helped you out that ditch (I was made to stay in the car). We were in the silver Passat that was directly behind you when you spun it. (I assume you are the owner of the white RX7 anyway)
One minute I was looking at the back end of ur car, then I blinked, and as my eyes opened again you were facing us. From watching as you came round the roundabout though it looked like it tried sliding as you came off it, and then just went when you tried correcting it. Might not have been, but thats how it looked from the back
It was an odd experience! I was going so slow it was really weird...just a few scrapes on the back bumper but it\'s all ok now :)
Car is now SORN for vaious engine bits going on.

JP exhaust or Tube Tourque in Macclesfield make Exhausts, They may be able to help.
May be worth getting it up in the air and have a good look under it, We see cars like this and you usaly find Mud jammed into all the Suspension and Box sections.
Got this sorted a couple of weeks back for the MOT :)
Annoying thing is it\'s coming off now anyways...nice SMB system on it\'s way :D
I did discover grass in there but not too much.
had a nose at the car later on in the day and considering how you bounced down the ditch, the damage wasnt as bad as i was expecting
