Title: What to do? to buy or not to buy...
Post by: fever on August 30, 2006, 02:45:34 PM
Hello, first of all I would like to present myself...
I am from Spain and I have the oportunity to buy a first series RX-7.. It is a rare sight here in Spain where due to custom restrictions arrived just a handful or so...

The car has been standing for some time and fires ok, but then throws the oil through a seal located behind engine and gearbox ....

This is the car

It costs me just 800 euros but I am a bit scary about parts availability and the nature of the oil problem...

What´s your opinion?

Oil seal is not a big problem, gearbox and clutch removal and it is accessable. As for parts, the internet is a wonderfull thing and as you are on the MRC website you should be able to see the vendors who all have web sites that you can order from.:cool
Oh and welcome too:D

thanks both for your prompt reply!

I hope the car is still available because the seller is having a lot of interested people..

Here in Spain japanese cars only entered via Canary Islands because there was a different tax status on them (the car is from Tenerife actually...) and on the mainland there was several tax restrictions that made japanese cars to be not competitive in terms of price... (government had to protect spanish makers i.e. Seat...)....
