Title: Engine bay pipe sizes help needed?
Post by: Kash_ on August 30, 2006, 10:10:59 AM
Hi guys, I want to get some silicon hoses for certain pipes around the engine bay, but dont have a clue on what sizes I need...

Does anyone know what the pipe diameter is for:

1. The water pipe which goes from the thermostat to the ast?

2. The pipe which goes from the Plenum to the brake cylinder (the big round thing on the drivers side in the engine bay  ) ?

Thanks

im not sure if you should get silicone for the brake vaccum hose.....(from the plenum to brake servo) ....ive seen on some applications that the silicone collapses under the vaccuum

I would have to double check but we have some that are steel reinforced to stop colapsing

Also, the standard rubber hose has a one way valve in - it\'s not just a simple rubber hose.

Cant the valve be placed in another tube?

The wrap is an easy solution.

i imagine it can be inserted into another tube, but i would expect it to have to be a tight and flush fit, otherwise the point of it will be negated.
