Title: Brake dust
Post by: B9 KLF on August 29, 2006, 11:28:01 PM
I\'ve been using HP blue on the front for a track day and they were fantastic but as reported previously the dust is, well, bloody heavy and if you are unlucky enough to get caught in the rain before you can clean the wheels the dust cakes on.

Wonder Wheels gets it off but this is tricky to use (very carefully) with split rims.

Any other little tricks to remove caked on dust :WaveBye

You can also buy a wax to put on them which forms a barrier and helps the dust not to stick.  Sure I have seen Demon Tweeks sell it :)

I tried a Turtle Wax barrier spray which did not seem to work.

At the moment though I just want to get rid of the reddish cake on the wheels which makes them look rusty.

QuoteHow about Jizer ?

Is this a car accessory product or hardware store? I\'ll give it a try.

I think the problem is that with RE-A wheels the outer rim is polished metal and the insert sprayed silver and I will have to experiment with some sort of barrier wax.

My bro found a wheel cleaner the other day that was safe on polished rims, I\'ll get the name from him, I\'ve seen it in action and it worked a treat.
