Post by: aposegil on August 29, 2006, 11:09:18 PM
Hello all

well this weekend got down to some serious work on the Rx

couldnt last weekend got to drunk lol on friday night lol oh and sat lol

anyhow got all the parts form Clive again thank you very much :)

heres the list

Remove Airpump
Run shorter belt
New A/C and P/S belt
New leads
New spark plugs

Fitted the HKS EVC3 boost controller also digital HKS turbo timer

Removed the AVC and blacked it up

Removed the water heater thing on the throttle body and removed the inlet throttle bodies (there to protect boosting on cold?)

also re-did 85% of the rats nets only hoses had to remove or where really bad condition and removed everything i didnt need now running first turbo actuator and pre-col waste gate of the boost controller

Yep still running standard ECU and at 7 psi at the mo and all i can say the car is driving amazing all solenoids still plugged in

Smooth responsive a lot nicer and sounds healthier

Only thing damm thing still idles high :(

im guessing its electrical has to be now as all gaskets replaced etc and what really annoyed me now

since putting it back together three times all of a sudden revs have droped perfectly to 1000rpm and sat there until i touched throttle again

how annoying is that

Im hoping once I have the PFC i can see if all the sensors reading right etc and hopefully that should sort it.

Has anyone got any advices tests etc I can do in the mean while ?

check your throttle isnt sticking! Couldbe a tired throttle return spring. Try lifting the pedal with yer foot, or adjust the idle via the screw, and or clean the ICV

sorry should have mentioned this but all throttle stops etc are perfect

for those not read previous posts

the car idles high to start with

and then starts to drop but then gets to 1400 and starts to go back up

some controlling it first i thought it would be vac leak maybe avc fecks or water warm up throttle body thing hence why i did all this work also def not idle valve already beenclean plus i blanked it to test it and still idle high.

you recon i would do all that work to the enigne if it was just the throttle prob?

is it common for the gasket between the lower inlet and engine go?

causing vac leak?

also injector cups or rubbers?

im just trying to see if it is possible there is a leak somewhere

also forgot to mention when i did the Idle Valve test i.e blocked it off is before i did all the above work going to try that tomorrow again once engine is warm see if it makes a difference

as I can think of anything else that would let air in to be able to raise the idle twice to what it should be
