Title: Pod Gauges..
Post by: <Daneh> on November 16, 2003, 01:54:15 PM
I assume rx7\'s (3rd gen) require Electrical Gauges and not mechanical? or does it depend what it\'s for?

Sorry new to this stuff, want to get that 3 pod to replace the center speaker.

Up to you mate, mechanicals are fine, electrical ones often offer some handy features that mechanicals dont and can look a bit more trick doing it (and are more expensive!) e.g. Defi\'s which can record a couple of minutes of readings and let you play them back - helpful in the first instance if you have some boost \'issues\' for instance and dont have proper logging gear to diagnose problems. They also have peak hold and warning lights so you can see what peak boost was, how hot water got etc and also set them to switch warning lights when preset readings are exceeded; for e.g. I used to have my Defi water gauge set to come on at 90 degrees so if I was caning it and it was getting overly hot it would give me a red light which helped encourage me to keep an eye on things and be ready to let her cool down if necessary.

Defi\'s also do a groovy start up diagnosis check if that kind of thing does it for you :D
