Title: Tyre fitting
Post by: framey on August 29, 2006, 06:52:09 AM
Jiya,
got myself some new wheels and new tyres, and have been quoted 70 quid to get the old tyres off, and the new wheels fitted/balanced etc.
Does this seem reasoanble to you?
Seems a bit excessive to me!
Thanks

no thats totally ridiculous!! I pay £20 for a set of 4 to be fitted and balanced. We wouldnt charge more than £10 to fit 4 tyres.
Shop around a bit...you should find someone better than that!!!

Tyre fitters will probably charge you more to fit them if you brought them else where, but £70 is a joke.  Lots of places now charge you a disposal fee too!

I use a company local to me and get tyres at a great price.  They come to my place of work, Fit and balance them, and dispose of the old tyres all inclusive. :cool

I wouldnt pay more than £20-£30 to have yours removed and new ones fitted and balanced.
