Title: engine internals
Post by: arrouk on August 28, 2006, 12:34:12 PM
after convincing myself i had killed my motor i am now not so sure.
while the fd was sat in the garage my batt ran flat, so i recharged the battery and wile putting it back on the car i knew the alarm would see its arse, so in disengaging the alarm i accidentally started the car....... and it ran on 2 rotors (previously only one) so did a poor mans compression test to find i have compression on 2 faces of the rear rotor and nothing on 3rd face(previous 1 good, 1 low, 1 nothing), my questions are:
a) how is this possible, may i have killed something other than an apex seal
b) is there anything worth trying to fix or should i just get it rebuilt.

Maybe it\'s a side seal that\'s gone, usually when an apex seal goes you\'ll lose compression on two faces.
