Title: high flow twins.
Post by: davyv on August 25, 2006, 08:49:11 PM
Just had high flow twins fitted by Pip and had the car mapped. Why does it now feel slower.

What boost you running? Maybe set up on the safe side?

8.5 psi.  290rwhp is respectable for that Boost on a std Fuel system, maybe worth getting a decent Fuel pump though if you want to safely run around the 300rw mark

Was it tweeked before it went in?

It may be developing its power higher up the rev range? But i\'d be guesing. Do you have a Rolling road printout?

without a fuel setup those mods you jsut spent all your money on are goign to waste. I would have bought a fuel pump and bigger injectors to start with then do the rest.

Thats still around 330fwhp should be happy with that about 70 up on standard. And then when you get the extra fuel bits:3gears-lh :3gears-lh :Santa

Did you dyno before and after the setup so you could confirm a power increase?

if the old setup was tired it could be that you are used to having no boost from low rpm and then a big thump when it all eventually spools up, feels quick but it isn\'t really. A mates monty turbo used to be just the same, big oldschool turbo with loads of lag ...foot in ... nothing ... nothing then all hell breaks loose as it tries to put the power down.

the car has only done 30.000 miles and ran A1 before.Taken it out for a long run today (sat) and the car does run very well but feels totaly different. Really i suppose i should have been advised to have the fuel setup done at the same time.

As every thing Pip will only do what you tell him thats how it works, if you say you want Hyflow twins etc doing and it tuning to a safe level that what he\'ll do. If he thinks the Fuel won\'t cope with the mods at any HP he will tell you.

For example if you had asked for a T51R to be fitted he would have said you need fuel mods.
