Title: Long Journeys
Post by: Gman on November 14, 2003, 05:59:26 PM
I know what long journeys can do to a normal car but a Journey of 500 miles in an rx7 is somthing new to me - should there be anything extra i should be aware of or precautions i should take (apart from AA cover)?

Should be fine, but I would check all the fluids etc before setting off an a long trip.  Have done similar in my FD with no problems.

Cheers

When my engine went bye bye the AA guy that came out knew about rotaries as his brother had one :)  Agreed that it was stuffed and phoned for the low loader.

500 miles is a normal journey for my FD :o just check oil, coolant, screen washer fluid, tyre pressures, bulbs work, etc. (just the usual stuff) and look out a few decent CDs :)

Me and Robbie laugh in the face of 500 miles pah, did 1600 miles one day, drive london, devon, scotland see robbie and then home, just to run a engine in. Various other trips have seen more than that. Where\'s all the confidence gone, a good RX is as good as any car, unless youve bought a clapped out banger, then get aa cover. LOL
