after some ideas im going to build a new install and im after lots of bass ! i hav 2 amps one jl500/1 and one 300/2 im running focal mids and tweets up front and i hav one jl w6 12" sub im not sure if to build a full fibreglass install painted to go for cloth or leather and im thinking about maybe getting another sub? or build one big box sealed or ported?? any ideas or pics welcome cheers
Is the sub designed for a sealed or ported box ?? How much sound deadening have you used in the install, that can help alot. I\'d go for a sealed box for puchy bass and ported for looser but louder bass. Remeber all this is weighing the car down ! I have a complete system sat at home longing to go back in a car !
These cars are much harder for installs, the speaker positions arn\'t very good and the sound stage at the front would be impossible to improve without loosing your legs !
All depends on what music you listen to and how loud you like it !

the sub can run sealed or ported the car is fully sound deadened ive currently got an install but running small fibreglass box want more bass so going to go bigger! i play loud and all sorts of music after somethink alittle different dont mind the amount of work involved!
Stick with the sealed box. Even though it won\'t go overly loud the bass is so much more punchy. What size sub are you running and what volume box does it need ?? I used to run 3 dual coil diamond M5\'s in an AXGT, won a couple of local SQ comps but it would only (lol) go to 140Dbl. The Amp was the limiting factor, i only had a Directed 600d amp running all 3 !

Oh and plus ported boxs are a mare to build well and they use much bigger volume boxes and ports.

Oh and i use to have a 14.4v line driver on the subs to get the most out of the amp, but it was designed to not clip at that voltage !

Have you got the rear seats or cubby holes?
