Title: HKS SSQV blow off valve
Post by: fd3s_rx7 on November 14, 2003, 04:48:56 AM
A quick question on anyone owning the HKS SSQV.

I put it on and how come it\'s not as loud as others HKS SSQV???
And how come it doesn\'t have that HIGH PITCH SOUND like others HKS SSQV on others cars such as Supra, Mr2, Eclipse and etc.???

It sounds just like my stock blow off valve.

I follow the direction completely!! I knew everything was correct!!

Or did I need to do somthing to the HKS blow off valve to make it sound louder and the High pitch sound??

Thanks

I don\'t know that exact d/v but alot of the jap valves are able to be adjusted, I think some have a nut on top which you tighten/loosen to change the pitch.

The smaller the holes the higher pitch the dump.

Dvae :)

i have a blitz dump valve and its not very loud, i think it might be that all the supras and skylines with really loud ones are running very high boost

My friend has a supra thats running standard boost, and his SSQV sounds loud and has that high pitch chirp to it, so like dave says maybe theres some way of adjusting the SSQV

This page talks of a "quiet insert" available for the valve? sure this isn\'t fitted?
