Title: t2 tuning
Post by: richrx on November 14, 2003, 01:28:44 AM
hi

i was looking at buying a t2 with a re-built engine. All the internals are standard, so i was wondering what the most you could get out of it without putting too much strain on the internals.

i was hoping 300-350 flywheel horsepower at the post?

any help please:D

thanx

What does \'at the post\' mean?

In terms of strain, any increase in power over stock will increase stresses.  Accepted wisdom is that 250-260HP is the point where the stock T2 setup starts to get near its limits and you need to start uprating things. However like all accepted wisdom rules are there to be broken if you know what you are doing :-)

at the post?

err i don\'t really know what i put that there for, if any one else knows that would be a help :D

i meant what power can the standard seals etc take.

i know that fueling, ecu etc need uprated at a cost.
