I have a toad cat1 alarm, its the Ai606 model i think its called (basic one). Anyway, sometimes its very difficult to override the imobiliser when i want to start the car. I mean theres a button to disable it then it will allow the car to start, but mine doesnt always let me start after ive pressed it and i have to keep turning the key back and fourth whilst pressing the imobiliser fob. Sometimes it takes 10 turns of the key and pressing the fob at different stages of the ignition (i.e turn key once, twice or third time) before the imobiliser is disabled. Why might this be?

i hav the same alarm and hav the same problem ive been told its to do with a surge in the system when you go to crank its asive you hav a sticky starter motor? which ive already replaced and still the same! dont know what the fix is?

does this alarm have an \'anti hijack\' setting ?

If so that might be why it won\'t always start without pressing keys and ignition. Should be a way to defeat that and set the alarm to normal mode again

im not sure if its got an anti hijacking mode but one of the sensors definatly isnt activating as it beeps twice when you set the alarm and all is ok. 3 or 5 times if a sensor isnt activated, i.e door open. Mine beeps 3 times which signifys this but i dont know how to check which sensor it is. I havent got the wiring diagram either so cant work anything out. the alarm was in the car when i got it and got no instructions at all.

LRP, do you have a wiring diagram?

also LRP, is the "surge" greater in an RX7 than any other car. Id have thought it would be more in a bigger engined car. My bros 6cylinder skyline also has the same alarm and his works perfectly.

I have the toad Ai606 and don\'t have any problems with it - you need to find out what the 3 beeps is signalling. There\'s probably info on the net somewhere for it.

no i havent got a diagram im going on what ive been told clifford can hav the same problem on rx7s not sure why?
