Title: Just fitted new seats
Post by: craigr on August 21, 2006, 10:57:55 AM
As part of my next (major) phase of mods to the FD, I have just got round to fitting my new BRIDE Ergo II seats in leather & BRIDE gradation (courtesy of Miguel at Newera).

A very tight fit, and currently a bit of an awkward driving position, as the driver-side touches at the base, so I can\'t roll them back 100% and my legs now touch the steering wheel (I am planning on tweaking them, plus have a new steering wheel to fit, so shouldn\'t be a problem for too long).

First thoughts - quality = absolutely awesome; looks - absolutely awesome; fitment - could do better due to seat width, but they did fit first time.

Once I have my seating position tweaked, I will be incredibly happy at the results. Oh yes, this means that my 2001 leather front seats will be up for grabs shortly.

Watch this space for some major changes over the next few weeks - I have a shed full of gear awaiting fitment.....

Craig

They look really good.

I had lots of problems getting my charge speed seats to fit - and they are way narrower than the brides you have.

Mine were too high on the subframes originally so I had to redrill them.  The seat "wings" still touch the door cards when the doors are closed which is a bit lame but there\'s not much I can do.

Anyway - looking good :)

yep, these are a bit high, and offset to the right by about 2-3cm. Both driver and passenger side shoulder areas touch the door cards when closed, but I think if I can drop the subframes down by a couple of cm, it will make my driving position much better, and minimise the door contact.

Beautiful seats, they look ace.

I cant beleive the length of the list in your signiture at the bottom of your posts.  Are you sure you can fit "Bride seats" in that list as well! If you cant I think your should give me those seats!! :Giggle ;)

I ran out of space on the signature a few mods ago - it\'s grown since, and judging by the amount of money I\'ve spent with Freddy and Miguel over the past 3 months, it will grow a lot more soon.

Geff is just getting ready for some further engine mods, and a local bodyshop is just about ready to install a kit & do a colour change.

I will be posting up soon about the full project :)

I will also post about the stock seats - just working out how much to charge.

Cheers, Craig

Hi

The seats look the business...by the way how much did they cost you to import from Nivera including shipping ? ( you can send me a p.m re that if you prefer )

Also can I be "third in line for you leather seats" ? Do the leather ones fit into 96Bathurst strait in with out any frame modifications ?

Regards
Michaelb

Hi all,

I have mucho interest on PM for the original seats, so rather than replying to all, I thought I\'d post here saying that I will be advertising the 2001 leather OEMs in a couple of days in the For Sale section.

I will honor the "me first", "me second", etc assuming the price is right.

p.s. just fitted my new MOMO steering wheel, and it\'s given me a couple more mm clearance on my knees :)

I recently managed to get hold of some Bride seats (fixed back bucket jobbies) and the are very cunning - they\'re not quite the same shape on either side so the outside doesn\'t touch door.  Still can\'t get them low enough to work with a helmet though... :(
