Title: Missfire/Hesitation
Post by: aeseaton on August 20, 2006, 09:26:44 PM
Recently brought my 96 Bathurst R and have experienced a strange missfire/hesitation at 4000rpm in 3rd gear. If driving along at normal rpm (2500) and i then accelerate hard, as the engine revs through to 4000rpm i get a growling noise from engine n power drops. If i ease off and accelerate again it works fine. Doing this quite often now. Any ideas? Could it be mapping? Fuel pump? Plugs? Im a bit lost.

Sounds like a vacum leak, check pipes to intercooler, second turbo comes on at about that so thats when under pressure  a a growl could be used to discribe vacum leak

Sounds like it\'s bogging.
You will need to have the secondary fuel injectors cleaned and flow tested.
