Title: Stainless Exhausts from Roteknics
Post by: kiwi7 on August 19, 2006, 06:05:15 PM
I recently aquired an EGI FC from a post on this forum! YAY:wiggle

But am a little dismayed by the exhaust that was fitted. It came from roteknics and looks very nice indeed. The problem being that my girlfriend thinks it sounds like a bake bean tin is loose under the car. After owning a Turbo fc  back in NZ with a straight through system and an 82 fb that was standard i have to say im inclined to agree. It sounds fine a full revs, but to move around town is sometimes embarrasing! :o

Anybody out there have a similar experience with these exhausts, or any ideas? I\'ve had a quick look and everything seems pretty tight on the exhaust front so i think i can rule that out, is it just the type of end cans that they have used???

Any suggestions gratefully considered

The usual problem with stainless exhausts is that they are too thin. Thin pipework resonates and makes it sound tinny. Same reason why cheap pattern exhausts don\'t quite sound the same as the OE exhausts (on well made cas anyway LoL)
