i am new to the rex scene and dont know my way around the car properly yet, and tried tooping up the coolant this morning as my add coolant light came on yesterday and let it cool over night, anyway this morning looked like it had no coolant and when i have been topping in up it looks like i have a leak from the left/ front side of the engine bay onto the floor, any ideas as to what it is.

uh-oh! Left front side sounds like your expansion tank. Expansion tank is in front of the front drivers side wheel - so if the coolant is coming from there, then too much pressure is building up in the coolant system, so the pressure cap is too weak.
If it\'s not coming from the expansion tank, the other likely place to look is the AST tank - but that\'s not really on the left: it\'s more central as it\'s bolted to the intercooler (If you have a stock intercooler)
the coolant level where you fill from in centre of engine bay has finaly stopped going down and is sitting just below a small hole inside of it and there is now now more coolant coming from the drivers side front hopefully i had just filled it to much and the leak was from the overflow.
although i have not yet started the engine and let it get to tempurature.
