How much generally are we looking at for a respray of an FD3S ?
The car is silver and thought about taking it a shade darker, so I\'m only really looking at the outside being done and not the full body shell which would require considerable effort to strip.
i got quoted £700 for mine,same colour though.
but not sure of the guys work so id say £1000 is about right,
would say get to see the garage`s work first as someone can say yeah im good but make a complete balls of it.

I\'d go along with that if its pretty much the same colour your after somewhere around £1k. Thats how much I paid and that was including getting a bodykit fitted and quite a few little trolley dents removed

It will depend on where you go and who you know really! Also the type of paint, if its standard or fancy colour changing stuff then it will cost a lot more.
A friend of my Dad introduced me to a guy who owns a coachworks near me and I have always used him for work and sent other people his way too.
He has offred to do me a bare shell respray for £1500, which could be a complete colour change respray including all internal bodywork, door and boot shuts and engine bay if I remove the engine.
If it was just a freshen up of the outside then there is a hell of a lot less labour involved hense the price is a lot less.
a local place near to me does outer full resprays for between £600-£700 for normal colours. metallics cost a tad more.
i just had mine done but i dont know were you guys get £1k from must be ooop north thing.
i payed £2200 for a full respray this included taking the bottom of each side of the car back to bare metal to remove the stone chip protection stuff down the side.
this also envolved removing a dent in the passenger side door that my dad put there with the back of his mercedes.

Anybody recommend a good coachwork company which specialises in House of Kolor or other such fancy paints ?
Last person I heard (ooop north) that had the FDresprayed payed about £2k for it.
i paid 2 k for my pearl white with Blue hue in !!

dont know of cost but you get what you pay for
I\'ve had quotes ranging from £1200 to £2200. I\'ve also heard of quotes as low as £700.
My local guy estimated for fancy colours between £4 & 6k
Also had one done for £1k which was aweful, so price has little to do with it, check out the guy doing it.
Im getting a bodykit fitted and a full respray as we speak, its costing around 2.5k from a guy in plymouth called chris, he runs a company called big nose dragon, all his work usually is airbrushing so the quality is mint, not to mention he has won awards from maxpower etc for his work, will see how she turns out when i get my car back on wednesday o.0
Have to agree with gary, price isn\'t always the best indicator of quality when it comes to respray. I would recommend having a look at some previous jobs a paintshop has done before commiting to having it done.
