Hi guys,
I was wondering what is available in the UK in terms of rear wings. I own a first gen with Mariah mode one widebody, so it needs some sort of wing to look ok. I hate shopping cart-style modern stuff, but overhere (Belgium) not much is available. Actually, not much is allowed either :(
I\'m hoping to live in the UK next year, so I\'m already looking in that direction ;)
My all time favourite is the IMSA-type wing used on older race cars.
Any sources in the UK? The only source I know is in Australia, so how about importing? If I buy parts in Belgium that come from outside the EU I pay 36% taxes. How\'s that in the UK?

Hi Bart,
you will be lucky to find anything here, most of the stuff i get come from oz or the usa, i made my spoiler fit with a lot of fabrication, i do have another spoiler that is non standard, could\'nt tell you exacly what make though but it is for sale (green one)
Thanks
The current wing I have on my car is a Mariah small aerowing, and it\'s looking ok, but a little small on a widebody. The wing you have on the car seems to modern for me (just my taste, no offence). I\'m looking for the old school style wings, as they were on racecars in the eighties. Selectmaz is the only source I know of:

That\'s more or less what I\'d like, but as said, I wonder if it\'s affordable in terms of shipping and import duties... Making something like that myself seems a bit hard...
Dont think you will find much in the uk like that, do you have any pictures of your car?
The red one is mine:

I have more pics on my PC, but I don\'t see an option to upload?
Some more are online, scattered all over the place, so I must search... :D
It\'s been off the road for a while now, with an engine that I didn\'t get running. I have a TII in there now, on a Wolf ECU. Many little things ended up slowing the project, but we are making progress again now. It runs right now, but extremely rich.
Main problem is the fact that it\'s no longer street legal overhere, due to the modifications. That\'s one of the reason why I want to move to the UK :Thumbs-up

very nice i looked at the wide kit when i had mine sprayed up but the costs involved to get a kit in the uk were crazy!
be great to have another good gen 1 over here there few and far between now, ive sent 4 to the scrap yard!!!
do you have much trouble fitting the gen 3 seats in?
also where did you get the white dials been after some for ages now

Seats: forget about it :) No, seriously: they were the biggest pain of the whole car. The drivers seat was easy enough: I made a frame from flat steel, welded the SA/FB seat rails to it, and bolted the thing to the FD seat. It mounts the seat just a bit higher because of the thickness of the frame (just 2 or 3mm), but that\'s compensated by the design of the seat. The passenger seat was a lot more involved. It didn\'t work the same way, because of the gearbox tunnel being strangely shaped there ( the exhaust runs there too ). As you\'ll know the right seatrails are different, with one angled (because of the tunnel) and the seat shaped accordingly. The only solution was making a frame that mounts to the floor at the tunnel side, so no rail. This isn\'t a problem, since it makes the passenger seat fixed. I have put it as far back as possible, so tall passengers (my wife or dad) can sit comfortable.
Now for the bad news: you have your steering wheel at the right side (wrong for me ;-) ), making my passenger seat your drivers seat. Obviously, a fixed drivers seat might be a bit uncomfy...
The gauge faces are self made, but should be replaced: they started fading.
If I move to the UK (I should know by the end of this month or early september) I\'ll buy a set on ebay. They come up once in a while, but are always in miles. I\'ll need to replace the speedo again then: I have an FC unit in it now. The old one ran out of breath over 215km/h on German "autobahn"... The new one goes to 240, that\'s about ok. I only had it up to 225km/h, I didn\'t have enough nerves to keep pushing...
That\'s the kind of rer spoiler I\'m after too! Baaadaasss

Might leave the seats then!!!!
i have plenty of FB clocks in MPH if you need them, and you will with the amount of speed cameras here!!!

yeah, thought so too... Overhere my old unit was totaly off, when doing 90km/h on the speedo, I was passing everyone (easy) on a 90km/h limited street. So I wanted to know what I was really doing. My father drove the RX7 at 100km/h on the clock, and I drove behind with my daily driver (mazda 626). I had 140km/h on that ones clock!
I obviously hope I can get a correct working clock when coming to the UK. It\'ll be hard enough keeping the foot under control with those limits and cameras. If I do move to the UK, I\'ll ask for a clock in mph from you then :D

Can also be affected by the wheels/tyres you are running, i know my clocks are out as i went for slighly smaller rolling cercufrence on the rears to give better acelaration rather then a higher top speed with a larger one, i use the speed on my sat nav when going near any cameras
