Title: idle problem
Post by: ceendee on November 12, 2003, 04:46:38 PM
we have posted before about this it would seem this is not a choke problem .Our car will start fine but once warmed up to heat when i select park it will rev from 750 to 1100 and so on  ive been told it is probably some vacum pipe/sensor but ther is nowhere local to take it.                                                                                                                                                                                                                Priory in Cambridge  were good enough  to say sorry m8t but no one here has ever worked on them  but we will have a look .   And  The Mazda dealer in Letchworth was a complete waste of time. And when i asked about problems ocurring in the rx8 (which they have one on the forcourt ) was told if it cannot be sorted using a plug in then they will bin the engine . The bloke some sort of pratt? .

Hey dude,

I\'m in Biggleswade and I phoned up Mazda UK to find out where to take mine and they were "duhhh I dunno"

Best bests Reading mate, Rothnics or somminc, there\'s PTS in Luton but they are meant to be slow(?) please near Bluewater (bit up the m25) or Jimmy\'s in Norwich

It does sound like vacum probs from what I\'ve read in the past.. shouldn\'t be too much of a prob!

bets of luck... if I can help anymore lemme know

Wow that Letchworth dealers scary, l just hope you had the car washer pretending to be a salesman !!!!!

Unfortunately as so few of these cars were brought in the country officially and with the last being in 1995 there are precious few Mazda dealers with people left that are trained to look after these cars.

Your best bet will probably be an independent specialist , //www.hurleyrotary.com is probably your nearest and a little further away have //www.wgtautodevelopments.co.uk

 Hope this helps.

All the best Clive

Millcars in St Albans told me they have a rotary trained mechanic who\'s been with them for a long time.

However I don\'t know what he\'s like, Millcars used to have a bad reputation under while under Mazda UK franchiose and it was good to see them quit Watford, except for the fact their parts department was rather good, taking the view in the old days that they would sell you parts for a grey, it was jsut on your won head.
