Right then, I have almost given up hope of fitting my water temp gauge (mechanical) but on reading an email I got a long time ago I think there may be a way.
The reason I am having difficulty is that the thermocouple is to short for where I wanted to mount it (see link below). I currently have the duel centre speaker pod fitted up with a boost gauge.

Have a read of this and see what you think.
My questions are where exactly is the location this guy has put the thermocouple? What is this T piece, where can I get one from?
"my water temp gauge is mounted on the a pillar. the thermo couple runs down the a pillar under the kick panel. its a bit awkward to get in to the engine bay. but there is a 38mm grommet situated in the inner wing. if u remove the indicator repeater u can see it. i popped that out and fed a draw in wire from the drivers side footwell through to the repeater. i then had to remove the wheel arch lining to feed a 2nd draw wire from the indicator to a lagish hole which is near the bulk head on the drivers side of the inner wing. this is a bit awkward. use the draw wires to pull the capillary through the hole in the footwell up and out of the indicator hole.then attach the 2nd draw wire out side of hole in the outer wing and slowly pull it through the inner wing. The capillary lead then screws into a t piece which u can get (similar to those used on a dump valve).which u cut the rad hose and insert under the air box."
Help given, much appreciated.
