Title: Help - Ecu Problem
Post by: AshRX on August 13, 2006, 04:10:54 PM
Went to Donny today, was going to get ready to 1/8 mile sprint. Left the car running to warm it up. After 10 minutes it just cut out. The ignition was on, but the engine wasnt running. Tried starting it but nothing. It was turning but wasnt firing at all. Flooded :2Mad

Did the flooding procedure minus taking the spark plugs out as no tools.

Still nothing, so unhooked the battery and left the neg off for a couple of hours.

Cranked it over minus egi fuse and then started it up. It started but was idleing all over the place. Gave it a bit of throttle and it was really holding back and the heat light came on above 3k.

Checked the commander and the last map has been wiped off as it was showing 100% injector duty on primaries and secondaries. Also it showed 550 primaries when i have 880.

Any idea what caused this? Had to drive home for 20 mioles doing 50 in the slow lane.

Not happy bunny :xconfused

Pretty sure they keep the map even if you take the ecu out (could be wrong) and need to be properly reset through the commander menu.

So strange one, hopefully someone will know the answer!

spoke to a few garages and they have known this to happen. So map just has to be put on again.

Thank god for that :-)
