After a go kart session at my local track one of the organisers asked if i woul dlike to take the rx round and have a go at drifting as the eurodrift competition was on the next weekend and he was trying to drum up some interest, half an hour and a nasty meeting with a tyre wall later .....

Quite an expensive bit of fun :2eek
oh mate!!!!!....feel for you bud
harsh, sorry mate. empty car parks are a good start. well done for having the guts to give it a go though.
Oh the joys of drifting, know them too well
I actually really enjoyed it and randomly was still laughing as i crawled out my passenger side door and surveyed the wreckage of my bumper (answers on a postcard as to what it was;) ).
I have since bought a 200sx to satisfy the craving and poor rex is now in the bodyshop.:driving
could have been worse, at least no damage to the chassis.
very slightly kinked the crossmember / slampannel s o i n a way i was lucky ...:3gears-lh
I\'d love to have a go at drifting........In somebody elses car...:yes
naaaahhh thats no fun :)
I did that at the Nurburgring with the same result!!!!!!
You\'ll enjoy drifting the 200sx... it all happens alot slower and is easier to control than the FD (in standard trim).
yeah i know i had a little play last weekend :) the fear and respect factor is now firmly there though !
Ouch, sorry to see that
nurburgrob: show us some pics of yours, is it worse ??
Mine\'s not even close to yours! just got a scuffed front bumper although my bro did similar damage to you.
It\'s hard to drift without the proper diff.
Sorry to see the rex like that but at least ur ok anyway drifting the 200sx is fun but the car is very rear heavy so be careful I\'ve been drifting since I was 15yr in my dads mk2 mr2, it was an accident to be honest but I realised I could control it, now I love it but unfortunatly I currently own a honda delsol(useless car)!!!!!!! but for my christmas present to myself(",) I\'m gonna buy my first rex an have some real fun again Oh I only 19yr now so insurance should be fun:-).
Sorry to see that Chris. I hope you hadn\'t fitted those lights I just sent you!
Damage doesnt look too bad. New bumper, wing and lick of paint and you will be back on the road.:Thumbs-up
kermit: no mate they are to replace the ones i smashed (well..ONE i smashed but i couldnt find just 1 :()
Hopefully should be back on the road by the end of the month !!
Anyone coming to the eurodrift final at teeside autodrome in sept ??
hi chris,
wow sorry to see thats why you need a new wing panel Ouch! i still have it if you want it but havent had time to sort out any delivery stuff yet, been busy with work over weekend.
That should t-cut out in an afternoon,:)
Nasty I\'ll find some photo\'s of my learning to drift, it worked about as well as yours,
Hope if all gets fixed up quickly.
At least you get to appreciate the skill level the professionals have :2eek
Sorry to see the damage must have been horrible to see the tyre wall fast approaching !!!! :eek
jovic 82: sorry mate, car had to be in the bodyshop by this sat with as many pannels as i could get so they could start so in the end i went to mazda (£250 :() thanks for looking into it for me though!
gsb876: welll..it seemed to run at me ! very quickly and whichever way i turned it was in the way :) :driving
