Been told to go either Trust/ Greddy, Sard or Blitz. Haven\'t bought one yet, but HKS tends to corrode.

Fancied the setup Pete had actually and run one BOV per tub, must make some right sound !!

I\'ve had the HKS SSQV for 18 months now with no probs, sounds loud too. I\'ve just gone to singe so am now gonna use a universal flange on the IC pipes. If anyone wants a SSQV fitting kit for an FD pm me an let me know.

turbo recons ?

How many turbos have you known to fail because no BOV was fitted ?

thought so :P

BOVs can also cause over spooling of turbos causing them to wear also so its a can of worms.

I preffer the sound with no BOV so i dont run one simple.

Check the pipe work for the pre spool actuator..... I had this and it turned out to be a split pipe!! Underneath behind the cross member & steering rack!!

No BOV causes the turbines to stall more violently, wearing the turbo bearings quicker than usual resulting in shaft play. If they were not required why does pretty much all manufacturers fit them as standard????

My mates 200sx  was run without a bov for 4 months before the turbo needed reconning the company who re conditioned it (ITS turbo\'s) said it was most likely a direct result of not using a BOV. So there\'s one for you. They work with turbo\'s everyday, it\'s all they do so I think they\'ve probably seen the fault before.

If you prefer no sound then why not run a recirculationg valve or keep the stock one I don\'t see you\'re point in removing the standard one lol???

have you never heard what most people call "chatter" the sound of compressor stall its that sound i like.

the only turbos i know that require a BOV are thoe with ball bearing type cores due to weaker shafts.

If your bov fails tho and it stays open it can result in your turbo over spooling  and killing your turbo.

I ran my cosworth for 4 years with no BOV and sold the turbo when i broke if for spare in excelent condition.

Nothing flash on the Cosmo just a cheap and cheerfull Bailey but it works well and make enough noise without being too much.

how big is the pipe to the actuator? I\'ve got boost probs on me 1st tubby and trying to rule out issues, so i\'m gonna replace the pipe to and from the actuator.
