Title: Idle Problem
Post by: Brainfire on August 11, 2006, 02:11:35 PM
Hi... Anyone any ideas on an idling problem? (Standard FD, UK model). It just sits around 1400rpm bouncing up and down all the time - my mechanic (who is far from useless with FD\'s) has tried all the usual things including spraying WD everwhere to check for leaks, etc, but no joy at all.

could be a clogged ISC valve - its on the back of the UIM. Remove it and clean it - there is a guide somewhere, check on fd3s.net.

Other than that, intake leak is suspect, clutch switch (check this, guide also on fd3s.net) and o2 sensor.

If I don\'t have any joy with it before then, and you get yours fixed, I\'d appreciate it if you could post with what resolved it for you mate. Ta.

P.S. Does anyone have instructions/correct readings for the resistance test for the ISC???
