Title: Speed signal wire on Gen 3 16bit ECU...?
Post by: SiCook on November 10, 2003, 07:53:00 PM
Hi.
I\'ve invested in a Sat Nav/RDS Alpine unit for my Rex as a welcome home present.  It uses an ISO connector and I assume Mazda will also use the same connector...?  Anyway, that aside....

The system also wants a feed from the speed signal wire.  A have an ikkle question - anyone know which wire I should use on the Engine ECU loom for this signal?

The car is a Gen 3 Type RS with the 16bit ECU, it was made in Feb 1996.

I have the diagrams for a Gen 2, but can\'t find one for the Gen 3.  I\'m not sure if the pinouts are different between the 8bit and 16bit ECU\'s...

Thanks in advance,
Si.

there is a speed signal behind the clock fascia, that is used to convert from kph to mph.

I couldnt tell you what colour it was though, if your an import you will have a chip behind it you can gues from there prolly.

You may use this but other peeps may know of a better one.
