Title: where should i draw an ignition live from for headunit
Post by: richard cash on August 01, 2006, 01:18:00 PM
After blowing my new engine rebuilt rex i have been going out of my mind working out what could have caused it. I have now come up with another possibility.

Is there a way that the head unit could have been wired up so that it may draw power from the ignition circuits. I have a pretty powerful system but until now just assumed it was seperate. Then i remembered that i wired it up to the cables under the steering column. This is where i got my ignition live and permanent live from.

was this a bad mistake to make?? at the time i couldnt see anywhere else to wire it to
