Title: boost solonoid
Post by: stuart wizy on July 31, 2006, 05:43:57 PM
has anybody got a  solonoid that 1 of the 3 pipes with the check valves on goes to under the rats nest from the uim?  its the pipe which goes straight down from uim to the plastic solonoid, the plastic pipe outlet on the solonoid broke of when i tried to lift the uim!

i have, but you\'re going to need a better description than that - as they\'re just lying around off the car now!

I know what u mean about the description mate!!!
ok here goes my 2nd atempt!!

as u lift the uper manifold of, u have to disconect the 3 pipes with green and white  check valves on,  one goes to oil filler neck, one goes down to rats nest and the other one goes down to the black plastic solonoid  under the rats nest.
there are 2 black plastic solonoids next to each other, the one i have snapped is nearest the front of the car.
I need to take a pic really.

sounds to me like the double throttle control solenoid..

In total there are 5 check valves (green and white)

there are 4 pipes coming off the plenum which have check valves...
You described the soleniod as being next to another one....that discounts the pirge control solenoid since that one sits on its own just behind the alternator.
The two other ones dont go to solenoids, instead they both join onto metal pipes on the rats nest.
The fourth check valve is on the hose from the y-pipe to pressure tank.

That leaves the 5th one which is the double throttle control (Soleniod on the soleniod rack nearest the front of the engine bay)

The line going to the oil filler doesnt have a green and white check valve.

ah, if it\'s the double throttle control solenoid, then i need that for myself. However, they\'re all the same, so i should be able to do something.

Just sold a set of sols, sorry mate, all I have left are the two that sit together (wastegate and precontrol) I can search the garage again as I seem to keep finding them in boxes, but no promises.
