Perhaps we could all stump up some cash and buy it our selves.
How many members do we have and lets go from there

I\'ve seen this car live.... we had it in our stand at a motorshow earlier this year...

I would also want to have it!

Unfortunatly all the Gp b cars were left hand drive. Just the way I like it. And It keeps that exhaust heat away from the driver and burns the co driver. Excellent

all the best rally cars are LHD ... not sure why ? there must be a reason for it ? Perhaps its just because most of the good drivers are from mainland europe ?

This would be a nice ride for you Mike!

The guy who has it now has not raced it. He just restored it.
He said he would likte to try it in Finland where the gravelroads are VERY fast... would be good for the Rx7 and him!

But he was a little afraid of crashing it... he talked about selling it when I last met him.

He also rallied Rx3\'s and 7\'s before.

yeah its about 55\'000 Euro\'s over my budget too ;)

a bargain considering how competitive these things were on the rough stuff in group B doubt you could buy an ex works 6R4/Manta 400/Rs200 etc. for the same money.

thanks for posting this. i never knew Mazda planned to compete in Group B. this is a bad-ass Rx-7. would have loved to have seen the series get off the ground. i\'m sure this Rx-7 would have gave hell.

thanks again.

wow-! It looks rude! I\'ve never seen a body kit like that before on a rx.

I\'m just trying to imagine how nice it sounds tearing past at 100mph on gravel!!!

Has anyone got some video footage of this car in action or any other simular RX with the same sort of Rorty sounding naturally aspirated engine we can see please?

there is a really nice guy in Ireland with a car like that, was on the stand at the classic car show at the nec a couple of years ago with us and another RX club.

the sound was unreal. last thing i heard it was being used to clear the stages ahead of the Irish tarmack Rally.:yes

looked the same but wouldnt dare say it was.

Ah yes The Mainfreight Mazda driven By Neil Allport. Brill. He took this car to our Taranaki Rally near New Plymouth. An all Tarmac event and absolutly blew the opposition away. I was also competing and finished somewhere near the back in a Datsun 120Y after a big crash that saw us land in a ditch on top of a

Mazda RX3.

wow- thanks very much....
I\'ve got to try and download some of them if I can or find some others show I can show the unintiated.

I\'m remember the name Neil allport but never saw him in action-great footage...makes me really homesick though when I see those dusty gravel roads in the hot hot sun!
Keep the footage coming...any of older rx\'s?

yes  it was 3rd ... my mistake

http://www.rallybase.nl/index.php?type=result&rallyid=233

not mazda\'s best result thought as I reckon a 323 turbo won the swedish rally in 89

also driven by Ingvar Carlsson
