Title: D-Day
Post by: DaveCollins on November 07, 2003, 06:10:28 PM
After waiting a week for V55 I have finally taken delivery today.  Only about 45 miles so far, but a full day\'s driving bekons tomorrow.  Initial impression is that this car is so easy to get used to.  It felt like I had been driving it for months after the first half hour.

Cool photos.  That colour looks good too with all the Autumn scenery.  Have fun this weekend :)

Thanks Lee, I intend to.  The colour is great because it seems to change dramatically depending on what light source you have on it.  Bit like the silver in Sheffield last weekend which looked almost white in some light.

Pleased you got your car O/K Dave,

Please keep us informed on living with your 8 i.e. does it meet with your perceptions etc etc especially with you being a huge Rotary fan for many many years.

Have fun.

All the best Clive

Title: Dave\'s new RX-8 Beauty
Post by: fdman on November 07, 2003, 10:51:59 PM
Dear Dave,
It looks beautiful in the autumn light. It has great presence.
Thank goodness that there is one car maker that dares to be different in an age of standardisation and conformity. Though I have personal resevations about aspects of the design of the rear of the RX-8, I think your photographs are inspiring.
Have lots of fun, and thank you for posting the pictures.

Awesome Dave - looks REALLY nice!

I know what you mean, when I test drove one I also felt nicely at home.

Are you happy with it?  does it go well etc.?  I suppose you are still taking it easy.

Glenn,

Another 200 miles today so now upto 1250 miles.  Have started pushing car a bit more now.

Must say it seems glued to the road.  Only managed to get it sideways once, when I applied a bit too much power coming off of a roundabout.  It did however step back into line instantaneously with just a little lift and a bit of corrective steering.

As mentioned I will get my thoughts together and write a bit of a review of the first few weeks ownership experience and post up soon.
