Hi Guys and Gals,
I have a question of boost if I may.
I discovered a disconnected Blitz Dual Turbo Timer tucked away behind the drivers footwell panel at the weekend (RX7 FD3S Type-RS import). I assume it was disconnected to pass the SVA test (due to legality of leaving engine running unattended).
So I hooked it up and decided to test what boost I was running, took the car for a drive and kept an eye on boost readings. All seemed ok, so gave it some high revs on a nice open stretch of road to find the peak boost pressure. It recorded a maximum of 0.92 kilogram-force/square centimetre = 13.085 475 868 pound/square inch.
My question - Is this boosting dangerously high? The ECU looks to be the stock unit, but I havent managed to remove its cover to check the chip/board - can anybody tell me how I should go about doing this?
My Rex has a Mazdaspeed exhaust and twin Apexi filters. Also has a \'tuned by Mazdaspeed\' plaque on the tailgate, but I think this may have come with the Mazdaspeed spoiler and skirts.
Should I be getting to RE:Worx asap to get the car checked over?
Apologies for the long post!
13.085 475 868 thats cool thats about 0.85 bar which is fine
It\'s more close to 0.9 - it is getting a bit high to be honest.
i was running 0.85 on standard ecu and it was fine nic
Thanks for the quick response Ash, however I make this 0.9 bar?..
(I used http://www.onlineconversion.com/pressure)
werent a bad guess from doing it in my head :evillaugh
Hmm, according to my Defi gauges mine has peaked at just over 1bar which really can\'t be good.
all depends on what ecu, IC you are running. On stock ecu and fuelling and IC thats not to good
I\'m running stock IC and stock ECU.
I\'ve sent an email to RE:Worx for their advice, I\'m thinking maybe purchase a Power FC then have it mapped/tuned on the rollers..
What do you guys reckon?
Apexi is the way to go mate
