Title: 2nd gen clutch replacement
Post by: infinitezero on November 06, 2003, 01:43:37 AM
Hey,
I finally joined the drifters gang today when I got my 87 rx7.  The car is defintiely rad.  The question I have is how hard is it to replace the clutch (pending you dont have a lift)?  The clutch is going on it and i figure I may as well replace it as soon as possible so I can be driving the car to its full potential.  Thanks

Andrew

Hi to all over the big pond :)

FC clutch is easy job, but without a lift, it\'s gonna difficult.
Of couse, you will need to remove the gearbox to get to clutch, and some space to be able to put it down carefully. My advice: rent a lift!

Hi Andrew and welcome from all the Mazdarotaryclub.com Team,

Agree with Iwan with this, quite a straight forward job but so so much easier if it\'s in the air.

All the best Clive

Thanks.  I think I am going to talk to a mechanic I know.  His brother works at my dads machine shop, so he gives us pretty good deals.  which is good considering I am trying to save every last dollar.
