Edited to say that they are for an FD. Thanks Jason
Does anyone have all this Info for Fc\'s?
I already have 18" fitted (i belive my offsets are 38)
But i am going to buy some 17"
Chris
anyone got the PCD\'s and offsets for first gens
I think they are as follows but I need confirmation quick ;)
1979-83 110mmPCD x 4 with 25(?)mm offset
1984-85 114.3mmPCD x 4 with 40mm offset (4.5" PCD)
anyone care to confrim this please :)
what about 18 inch and 19 inch fitments?? any problems there??
which of these would be best for 19 inch on a 3rd gen?
SIZE - 1975
OFFSET - +43 or +48
P.C.D. - 8-100/ 114.3 or 5-114.3
dont understand these measurements myself, what measurements would they be tyre wise?? want some nice wide rear tyres, mine are 265 at the moment i think at the back..
Ryan, the link below will help work out the correct tyre size that would be required. The sizes given above are official Mazda fitments, and as they never fitted 18\'s or 19\'s, I guess that when purchasing the wheels, get the company to work out which size/offset would be best. But unless you can try the wheels on the car, it would be a little bit of a gamble as the whether they could rub either the arches of the suspension.

Mike, now i really am confused!just been ona US wheels site, which says 85 RX-7s have 4x110 pcd.performancealloys.com says 78-83 is 4x110,and 84-85 is 4x114.3,as you say.i really need to know which it is for an 85,cos i\'m after a set of 15" oz hydras.:)
Whilst answering a question the other day I calculated the correct tyre sizes for 18s and 19s on an FD.
This will only tell you the correct (and legal) external diameter. I can\'t gaurentee that these sizes will fit properly and not rub etc depending upon your wheels. Also what difference it will make to handling etc:
Standard wheel (and tyre) size external diameters:
Front: 650mm
Rear: 645mm
18s
Front:
225/40/18 (645mm external diameter)
or
235/40/18 (655mm external diameter)
Rear:
255/35/18 (645mm external diameter)
or
265/35/18 (650mm external diameter)
19s
Front:
235/35/19 (650mm external diameter)
Rear:
265/30/19 (650mm external diameter)
How much do the standard 16inch alloy FD wheels weigh? I had the info but lost it?
Another site that lists useful PCD\'s
http://www.bgworldwheels.co.nz/fitment_mazda_main.html
I believe the RX-2\'s 4 x 110 is unusual. However, I did find a useful site.
http://klubas.autos.lt/index.php?group=technika&topic=zinynas&src=wheels
Found some other cars with the same PCD.
Volvos , Peugeots, and Rover Metro!
Just wanted to check if these wheels are okay. PCD 5 x 114.3, size 17x8(front) 17x9(rear) offset +45
Will this be okay on the FD with 5mm spacers?
Yeah should be :)
Hi any chance of adding the recommended tyre pressure\'s for the various sizes i have 17\'s on mine but not sure what the pressure should be, i assume the info on the door frame is for standard wheels and isn\'t necessarily correct for larger wheels.
Thanks
Mark
Tyre pressure should be the same whatever size tyres/wheels really although a lot is down to personal preference.
Off the top of my head I think the Mazda recommendation is 29psi front and 31psi rear for road use - It\'s probably written in the door sill but you\'ll need to convert to psi from bar or something.
If you are running on a track you might want as much as 10psi more (especially on higer profile tyres) to prevent wear on hard cornering.
Thanks for the info i figured it to be somewhere around 30psi, seems to be around the norm for most cars / tyres.
Thanks
Mark
I\'ve found some 18s for sale I\'d like for my FD but not sure if the offsets are will fit.
They are:
front - 18x8.5 (ET30
rear - 18x9.5 (ET38)
I know this size of wheel will fit, just not sure about the offsets.
Any help would be gretaly appreciated.
You neet at least +40 ET, 50 is ideal.

I dont agree with that at all im afriad. Them offsets stated sound ok to me though.
8.5J ET30 in front will rub.
i\'m looking to buy some new alloys and have found some i like, but i don\'t understand the whole offset/pcd thing so i was hoping if i post the sizes could you guys in the know tell me whether these should fit my gen3 FD or not? thanks...
they are 17" with 7.5" width, a 114.3 PCD and 32mm offset.
there are no tyres on the wheels at the moment so if they would fit ok, what size sidewalls would i need to go for to avoid any rubbing (standard suspension at moment, but may lower a small amount in future?).
Do you need a higher off set to make the wheel stick out further? or is it the lower the number means it sticks out more?.
Confused from essex
:xconfused
The offset is the distance from the wheel centre line to the mounting face. Soooo the larger the offset the further away (towards the outside of the wheel) the mounting face is from the centreline.
think of it this way.
start with a zero offset wheel e.g the mounting face is on the centreline
now move the mounting face towards the outside of the wheel by 40mm, compared with a zero offset wheel the outside lip of the wheel will have moved inboard by 40mm
so a -40mm offset will move the rim 40mm outboard compared to a zero offset and a +40mm offset will move the rim 40mm inboard compared to a zero offset
Anyone know what the standard offset is on an RX-8 ?
explains offset, the meaning of pcd ect
http://www.matey-matey.com/alloy-wheels.shtml#5
Ok gen1 series 1/2 have 4x110pcd
ser 3 have pcd 4x114.3 pcd (nissan wheels)
as far as I know they both use the 40 mm offset wheels (same as nissan)
the RX2 / r100 use a 25 offset
no, series 1 &2 have an offset of 20-25mm they are not the same offset as the later series 3
Makes sense, The series 3 does have a slightly wider wheel face to wheelface than a ser 2.
point taken
Could I use these wheels??
18 x 7.5 available in +37/45
Cheers!!
Paul.
Too narrow, stock wheels are 8 inch.

Bugger, why can\'t wheel manufacturers over here make wider wheels :)
I\'d best get saving cos they look very similar to Racing Hart CX-Rs but obviously lots cheaper! Best save for the real thing.
Offsets question again :)
I found a much cheaper wheel similar to the CX-R http://www.bkracing.co.uk/aspbite/alloy-wheels/gallery-wheel.asp?ID=51
I\'d preferably want 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear, the offsets for both widths are et 30 and 42 and 45.
Are these usable or would I have to go with the 45 offset in 18x8 for front and rear?
Cheers :)
Paul.
i understand what has been said about offsets but what about wider wheels.
say the offset is reduced by 25mm that means the wheel will stick out an extra inch. But then what is the wheel width is 1inch smaller, will it be the same.
Im just wondering what i need on the rear for a 50mm wide arch fender. Thats around 2 inches so if i keep the same offset and get a 10" wide wheel as opposed to the standard 8" then shouldnt it bring it out just right? I know this is wrong as there seems to be much more to offsets and wheel widths that that, but i just cant see it
i think if you put a 2" wider wheel on and keep the same offset of 50mm...it wont even fit as it will fowl the suspension etc...i have 9.5j et 37 on the rear of my fd,with a 275/35/18...i think you would need something like et 20 or et15 to bring the wheel out...
so instead, if the offset was reduced by 2" on a standard rim then would the wheels stick out 2" more thus being level with the wider arches?
did we get confirmation of how much the 16" wheels weigh?
Ta
Si
Will these fit an FD?
Diameter: 19"
Width: 8.5J
Offset: 38
PCD: 5 x 114.3
Kind Regards,
Darran.
Ideal on the front but could do with being a 25mm offset on the back as they\'ll be about 3/4" in from bodywork. Either that or you want a 9.5" width with that offset for the back.
See the calculator I posted, it\'ll work everything out you need including tire widths etc.
Basic question about offsets: Is it pretty much a visual thing just to get the wheels looking at their best in the wheel arches, or is it also to do with how the car handles etc? Sorry but I know nothing about this subject. :Hammer
anyone know how wide a 2nd Gen egi wheel is?
right after reading all the post kinda lost still
i want a set of 18\'s or 17\'s for a fd
can someome please tell me best wheel size for front and rear for 17\'s and 18\'s and best tyre size for front and rear for 17\'s and 18\'s
pcd? i think should be 5X114.3 ??
offset? to what i have lernt canot got lower then 45 and no more then 50 is this on 17 and 18??
thnaks guys
i need help here too

Alrite lads, been reading through the posts and ive not really seen any mention of spacers...
Got my wheels from my MR2 17", 7J, 35offset. Would a set of spacers work their magic to fit these onto the Rex? (I REALLY can\'t afford a new set of rims !, and I do quite like these. They\'re BK299 wheels.
Thanks,
-Z
They are only 7 inches wide, the stock wheels are an inch wider than these.
See post no 28.
This would be a backward step for you to take.

I understand this. IIRC a wider wheel offers greater handling whilst comprimising ride quality.
Has anyone used such a width and is able to offer to how badly we\'re talking about the handling becoming?

The standard 91-95 alloys weigh about 7 kg and the tyres about 10 kg new
The later alloys are a bit lighter 0.5 kgs perhaps less.

On 18s what would be the right offset to get the wheels to sit at the arches and not up in then (like drift cars) dont mind rolling the wee lip away. Prolly something like a 8.5" front and a 9.5" rear, would et17 sit ok?
rx8 rims with 225/40 18 tyres fit on the the rear of my fc but the front touch the shocks an am going to try wheel spacers. Hope it works!
Quote19s
Front:
235/35/19 (650mm external diameter)
Rear:
265/30/19 (650mm external diameter)
seen this in a previous post - would this be ok for 10"rear and 9.0"front????
Just read this whole thread, and no-one mentions centre bore size.
Whats the centre bore size for 92 FD?
some one wants to swap me for there wheels and theres are
18x9.5j et12 front and back!
will they fit, rub so on.. ??
edit: its for a FD
I\'ve got 19x9,5 ET35 front with 235/35-19 tires, at the back 19x9,5 ET20 235/35-19 tires. They are fitted to the car with no rubbing - standard arches.
Can anyone tell me what size spacers I need to fit FD wheels to my FC?
Who makes a 16x8 wheel other than stock wheels?
How long is a piece of string?!
Loads of people dude.
First ones that spring to mind are OEM Skyline R32GTR (Non V-Spec) wheels - stupidly light, et30, so easy enough fitment, and very sexy as well. They\'re a 66.1 centre bore so you\'d need to get them bored out to the Mazda\'s CB though.
can any one tell me what the widest rims you can fit under a standard body with a rolled lip i wantto run the same size front and rear and run 18* wheels ? for a track day car but i need a wide as track as possible without having to fit any flash body panels ? ta
You a 19" is easy on the rear with a rolled lip. I reckon there\'s room for an 11.
If you want to run the same size and offset all round you are greatly narrowing your possibiliies. You\'d probably be limited to a 9.5 with a 255, maybe 265 at a push. There\'s loads more room on the rear than the front though, so you\'d be really restricting yourself by running the same wheel on all 4 corners.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v397/Pau1/RX7%20LS1%20Project/IMG_1041.jpg
18x9.5 et 30 all the way around with 265/35s
you could run 18x10 et35 with 265s as that would make your wheels stick 1.35mm out further than the picture, think thats probably about the limit, your car will have to be pretty high up remember so you will probably want some sideskirts to give a better look
If you\'re talking the same all the way round, I\'d be very suprised if you can get a 265 on front with an et30.
Specs of Paul\'s car need checking. I run a 225 on the front on an et25 on a 17 and it scrubs.a 265 would run circa 10mm further out. On those 18\'s it would be even closer.
Plus I have to say, those don\'t look like a 265 on a 9.5, the sidewall profile is the wrong shape. It may be the angle of the photo and I\'m probably totally wrong though.
the idea was to keep all the same size so i can swop front to rears etc instead of having hundred of wheels every where
so if 18x10 et35 with 265s stick out by 1.35mm if i rolled the lip / stretch the would cure over hang , many thanks i will have to see what tyres i was going to run coz i cant remember ,
Whats the centre bore size, just got me rotas and with the spigot theresstill alotof movement.
Mark
A 265 on an et35 on the rear will fit with a lip roll, possibly a slight pull, depending on geo and ride height.
I\'d be very surprised if it fitted the front with a 265. I\'d run a 235 and be prepared to possibly have to do some front archwork.
Centre bore is 67.1mm.
was chatting to max from reworx about this a couple of weeks ago.
he runs 18x10 et40 all around with 260 slicks(same as about 265 road tyres) on his orange racecar and says they are fine with no rubbing, id imagine the cornering forces he subjects the car to would cause it a bit.
but then im not 100% of his ride height.
is paul a member on here so we can clarify with him?
67.1 ? Mine measures 59mm
I have two sets of wheels. Will they fit?

you could run wider tyres on them aswell for more grip if you wanted.
235/40 on the front and on the 18x10 you can run 265 without issue id have thought if your compare to what some people run on here
I know they\'re a bit stretched, but I have around 10 of each size in my basement (all brandnew Maxxis MA-Z1 Victra semislicks), so it would be a waste not to use them.
Hi peeps...
Just looking at a set of Work Emotion rims 17inch in size..
Tyres are Rear 235/40/17 and Front 215/45/17
They are advertised with an offset of ET60
These were removed from an older Skyline... How will these sit in the arches...?
These ones
(http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q279/CardHore/681_full.jpg)
Many thanks
et 60 sounds really high, not sure if I\'ve ever heard of an et that high TBH! :P
In addition, pretty sure they\'re 18\'s in the pic above.... going by the above tyres sizes, the widths of the alloys sounds very thin / weak, poss 7.5, 8.0 or 8.5..... ?!
IMHO, I wouldn\'t bother looking at them any further, they won\'t look anything like the above and nowhere near as good :)
Yeah thats what I thought... Im hoping the fella can get get back to me with any other numbers. The wheels he\'s selling are geunine Work Emotion CF wheels as above but in 17" 9J and 8J... What sort of offset should I be aiming for?
Also this morning I come across a set of Volk rims, theyre a much more filling 18x9J all round with an ET45 all round running 245/40 tyres all round as well... How will these sit?
Many thanks fil.
not totally sure my post is in the right place as my question is about a eunos cosmo, so my apologies if its wrong but can anyone help me find out the right offset for my car please. thanks guys, mike.
