Post by: paul3944 on July 16, 2006, 12:24:42 PM
Hi,

Been busy installing the Lt-8, The only question i have is where to splice in the 12v Ign wire will the following work ?

Green check plug near battery this has 12v
or
The two power leads that run to the trailing coil packs

Any other ideas ?

Many thanks
Paul

Have you got the wiring diagram from microtech? I\'ve got it somewhere if that may help. I\'ll have a look.

I\'m assuming you are running an FD?, I\'ve had a quick look on the microtech website and they dont have the exploded diagram for the 13b, but I do I have it at work in my draw of things and stuff !!!!!

I\'ll dig it out monday morning and try and scan it etc then pm it 2 you if you need it.

Jase

D\'oh I\'ve just seen your running an FC, that shouldnt be a problem though.

ive got full installation and wiring diagram here for mtx8 13b sequential.
I will try to scan it and post it on here paul, by the way whats happening with our nitrided plates mate???

I got my mtx8 with 10mm ign leads, digi handset, download cable and brand new bosch coils of a guy in the states for 350 quid, the map on it is of a fc drag car running t45, the wiring diagram with the instructions is easy to follow and the guys labeled all the loom wires up on mine for the fc.

Thanks for the replies

I think we\'ve been blown out   by that firm for the plates will try elsewhere !

Might sound like a stupid question

Would it matter if the Microtech was mounted upside down ?
I\'m planning on mounting it on the inside of the footplate but with the lights of the unit on the right hand side so i can see them.

Would this affect the vac boost sensor?

on my installations (many) I allways used 12V from the coils with no problems.

Thanks Everyone got it finished today :cool

Only one snag which nearly resulted in a good boot to the wing :Hammer

Could\'nt get the unit to power up checked all connections - banged head on bonnet a couple of times - bad back from being stooped over under the bonnet all day.

Studied the Wiring diagrams till my eyes bled :2Mad
Six hours later from checking my work - The Engine 15amp fuse was blown :rollin

Powered up steady green light no errors on the sensors confirmed this with my laptop  :D

Shame I\'m away now for a few weeks can\'t get to play with it :(

Many thanks
Paul
