Hi Guys and Girls,

After a great fun we all had on our last London Run we have decided to organise another one on Saturday night 12th August.:3gears-rh

There will be two meeting point before we all head towards Central London.

This is what we have planed for sure now and got good selections of cars to start with. Its not just rotarys that can take part, any Jap motor is welcome as long as people be sensible.

This is not a race event or a track day on a public road. The idea is to have as many rex\'s as possible togather and go for a cruise in Central London and make some noice in the tunnels..

This is just a rough route beeing planed to let everyone know. A full map will be handed out to everyone and full details will get updated every day so keep an eye on this thread.

Meeting points;

1st Redbridge (East London A12)

2nd Ace Cafe (North London A406)

Route:

Our first meeting point will be at Redbridge, about 7pm(same starting point as last run) many people know how to get there. you can join us all if you like at this point. Deprting time 8.00pm sharp.

We will then take a straight drive down on A406(nice open roads and 5 tunnels to blast through) to Ace Cafe; (Our second meeting point; 9.00pm). The food is served at Ace and the parking should not be a problem. This is for those who can\'t join us from Redbridge but will be good for those comming down from more North and west.

Departing Ace at round 10.00pm sharp. back onto A406 and take A40 from hanger lane round about going straight into London.

We will avoid Regent street, oxford street, leciester square and trafalgur square traffic and stay towards Hyde park, Victoria or park lane side of the town. We will then take a drive by parliment square, embankment and through our favourite part; the lime house tunnel and blackwall tunnel with our finishing point at the Dome.

Anyone from MRC and FDUK is welcome. Others are welcome but please, please as i said above its not a race event of any kind so please behave on public roads and lets all have fun.

Its looking good already. Also trying to get one of the Jap Magazine to cover the event.

Although, we will prefer more FD\'s on the day but other jap motors are more then welcome.

there is gonna be a test run next weekend so we will post a final route to let you all know.

There may be a third meeting point in Central London for those comming from other side of the waters or more down south, who can\'t join us from our starting point. Park Lane may be good but not sure if there will be parking available. All will get updated so please keep an eye on this thread...:wiggle

Easier to find this time as well, Ace Cafe is but a stones throw from the end of the M1 going west on the north circ. none of this fighting through central London traffic.

Yea one of my concerns is the heat and damn London traffic, never been to ACE cafe but have recently accuired a SAT/NAV system so happy days on route finding and so forth :Thumbsup!

Well, I will have my name on the car.

JJ has got the final map and route sorted and will be given to each rex driver...top man JJ

We may be able to print a map with the camera locations. Myself and few others know every camera on the A406 and A40 so we should be ok.

The only point i think we may split will be after Park Lane as there are few lights but the Map will help + we will have our third stopping point at the embankment, just before we hit the tunnels at midnight....:3gears-lh :Giggle :chat

I got a set of cheap 2 way radios for the convoys to the shows this year. Thery\'re ok, but is a bit difficult to hear what the other person is saying some times. And i think you guys with really loud cars would find it harder. Just my 2 pence worth.

The a/c rad blitz replacement bolts and brackets holed my main radiator.They were rubbing an cutting through the fins and surround. The AA repaired it with something called K Seal,nothing like rad weld,itd new apparently and only sits were the holr is and doesn\'t harm the engine.They said it would be a permanent repair,but i don\'t trust it.So i need a new radiator and fast!!:)

My car still isnt back from WGT :( And having spoken to Pip i\'m not that confident it will be back in time for this :( I think I will ask Pip to get an external auto electrician in if he doesnt have time to do mine this week. It will be 3 weeks!! Its only an electrical problem FFS. I\'m not going to miss what could be the best event of the year :( If I do miss this i\'m calling it a day and getting shot of this car. I bought a car like this to enjoy, but the fact i\'m so far away from any speciallists means its a fecking nightmare everytime something goes wrong, and everything takes ages as i\'m so far away. Back to a Lotus maybe :(

Well I live in enfield north london just of the A10/A406 and as I use to run VAG night at ACE ill pop down but dont think ill join you guys for the run as with this high idle prob im suffereing from it will do my head in all night sitting in traffic but if I source a idle valve I will join you

This is open to all Jap cars... I know a few non Rex\'s are coming, the way I see it the more the merrier...

Meeting points and times;

1st Redbridge (East London A12)

2nd Ace Cafe (North London A406)

Route:

Our first meeting point will be at Redbridge, about 7pm(same starting point as last run) many people know how to get there. you can join us all if you like at this point. Deprting time 8.00pm sharp.

We will then take a straight drive down on A406(nice open roads and 5 tunnels to blast through) to Ace Cafe; (Our second meeting point; 9.00pm). The food is served at Ace and the parking should not be a problem. This is for those who can\'t join us from Redbridge but will be good for those comming down from more North and west.

Departing Ace at round 10.00pm sharp. back onto A406 and take A40 from hanger lane round about going straight into London.

I have just got an e-mail back from the MD of Ace Cafe. They are holding there annual Elvis Tribute night, starting at 9pm till 2am (So good news for our Elvis fans here). There will be entry fees to get inside the bar as it will be turned into a nightclub, with over 18\'s entry only.

The car park will be available for us all free with the help of their Marshals.

Have been checking the weather, forecast don\'t look great. Hopefully the rain holds off so that we can all have a bit of fun.:3gears-rh On the plus side, you won\'t have to worry too much about your air/water temps!! :yes

Remember this is not a race, there is no prize for being first. Not saying we all have to drive like grannies but respect other road users. It is a big convoy of cars. We do wanna try and all stick together without losing anyone on the way.

Well I was going through Harrow to get there, but I don\'t know the route so to make it easier my plan is to go through Ruslip and down the A40. I\'m open to suggestions really-could meet you in Pinner or Ruslip, or we could meet in Harrow if someone knows that way.

I was planning to leave about 8pm. I want to get there in good time before 30 other FDs turn up on the forecourt! FullOnLoon lives in stanmore too but I don\'t know if he is coming.

Done the oil/filter and coolant change yesterday and full tank of 99ron....all ready to go.

The weather will be showers, looking outside right now and its dry. The best bit will be the lime house tunnel. We are planning to park in there for a bit of drifting but not in my car....lol...

If we get dry roads then all good but if its wet then please people take extra care as i found out last night with the back end out again...:eek:

The car park should be reserved for us and as you are getting there before so thought it will be good to let everyone know what to expect when the convoy get to Ace Cafe.

We will be leaving Redbridge round 8ish. Normally a clear straight run to Ace takes 30 mins but if there is traffic then that can take a bit longer but the plan is to be at Ace by 9pm.

Departing at 10pm from Ace once all get the maps as from that point it will be very hany.

If this is your first time going from Redbridge to Ace Cafe and not sure which way to go then please have a good look at a map and i or there will be few others there to give you right direction, just incase you get left behind at the lights or in traffic.

There are traffic cameras enroute so please be extra carefull.

We don\'t want you to miss turnning from A406 for the Ace Cafe so plaese try to stay together.

Took a wrong turn and missed the Dome stop :( ended up stuck on the approach back through the blackwell tunnel for about 30mins, feckin torturous and by that time you\'d all left the dome! Thanks for organising the night laeeq! It was good fun, and the look on a Japanese kitchen hand\'s face (having a fag out back) when we all pulled up in that tunnel section before the dome will amuse me forever! He was shocked at seeing 1 FD, but was utterly confused by another 25 parking up. Poor lad didn\'t know what to do with himself.

Excellent night - even managed to get the hood down for most of it - except the run to Ace Cafe :(

Still awsome listening to all those Bellowing zorts !:3gears-rh :3gears-rh

We missed the underground roundabout, as we followed some other FD\'s along the A12 - Doh - but realised we were near the Blackwall so doubled back and hopefully have loads of photos of people arriving at the Dome car park. We left last and got home about 2.30am - but it was well worth it - well done to laeeq for organising this.:cheers

Me a pete went back in to the West End on the way home and happened apon a Fortune Kitted 350Z! It just looked insane and so big. I\'m sure he was looking for a little road race, but sadly we weren\'t going his way, which was a very good thing as when we turned the next corner the local police were out and about driving around and decided to follow us for a while making sure we weren\'t misbehaving! Long night for me and the others from the Midlands but a good laugh, apologies to MazdaBait as on the way home tried to avoid the traffic jam, switched on the sat/nav and it took us straight into the traffic jam :3Confused major D\'OH !!!! found a gap in traffic and went the opposite way which was the way we were going in the first place :o

No worries Gurj i think everyone was struggling a bit towards the end. I made it back home at 3.45 in the end. Had an excellent night and am currently trying to hash the footage my friend took together!

I defenitely think that this sort of convoy style meet should become a regular event.:burnout

Thanks Laeeq for organising an excellent cruise ...... jolly impressive turn out.

It really was impressive watching all the cars pulling away from outside The Tate.

When we were sitting at the lights on Vauxhall Bridge road waiting to to turn left, the guy in the car next to me was on the phone whinging about us ..... he said " Bunch of Fduking boy racers and they are in the wrong lane to turn left ..... :driving .. what do you mean the wrong lane ..... we were in ALL the lanes. :rollin

Thanka Laeeq for organising it .. was a great laugh and JJ for the very good maps . As only got lost once and that was becuase we didnt read it ! Spot on .

Great to meet and chat to people .
Laeeq .. hope i didnt get to close to you on the roadabout when we were getting on the m25 .. it got a bit slippery and i went a little sideways !!! lol .

Was well good in the tunnels .. as some of you guys are sooo loud !!!

Another excellent London Run !! well done Laeeq and J.J. !! it was great to see so many Rex\'s.... people on the street were in awe on the number of cars :) We definately got a lot of attention... I have to say the best moments of the night were at Ace Cafe, the Tate and in the Limehouse roundabout when all the Rex\'s were parked up together, it was an amazing site... simply awesome and a sight which will stay in my memory forever :)

Oh definately me as well, always enjoy those runs. Can we try and keep together ? at least people can see the cars instead of a blur flashing past ?!! Of course the tunnels are anyones play area. Want to get the roof down this time, what time of day are we thinking about? done the late night and O stupid O\'clock in the morning but the late evenings do seem to be better.
