They seem to a bit cheaper and would probably be a little less worn out in the drive train department (bushes etc) .
Is it easy to convert them?, Bish, i believe you have just had yours done?
I can think of 3 thats been done.
I had an auto and loved it.
They do fetch slightly less as most want manual for track days draging etc which are not the easiest of things in an auto, but as a stock car, it was great.
Not so sure they have less mileage on them, coz its auto dont mean an owner dont drive it, just means there are less of them around.
i didnt mean they would have less mileage but the whole gear change thing must wear out the rear bushes more quickly than a nice smooth auto change.
Yeah maybe would save bushes and bearing slightly, although I think sometimes age has as much to do with the deteriation as mileage.
would be a good starting point for a trcak car or project, cheap auto and ditch the box, although the boxes are very much a rarity these days and worth saving for the limited amount of Autos out there.
My first test drive was in an auto, i liked it with the sunroof Bose cruise etc, airbag etc, i was a little dissapointed at the grunt on kickdown but then the jap tyres were still struggling to grip on slightly damp road, but managed to find a manual type X with all the above, which i bought for a grand more with a rebuilt engine, but hey an RX7 is still one hell of a car auto or manual!

cheaper to buy, but not that easy to modifiey... If you want to replace the rad, you have no choice in aftermarket units, just special orders for high $$$$..... If you want another ECU, you have lost as no aftermaket ECU will manage auto- box.
I would take an auto as a daily driver, when you are not after the power or into modifications.

Iwan,
are there many 3rd gens in Germany?
I\'m thinking about bringing mine out next year once I get it super reliable (is that even possible?)
Are there any specialist\'s here?
Decided to keep it off the road this year so I can do the jobs I keep putting off.
I\'m working in Dresden all of this year and possibly even next year, and need something to keep me occupied while off work ;-)
Getting back on track, I have an Auto and just love it. Not really into modifications or increased power - jesus I\'ve just got my head around 99 spec lights (which I\'ve just done), and sprayed my dash panels - sweet!
Using the \'hold\' function, and with all the power available, it\'s almost as much work as a manual anyway. OK not for purist\'s but still way fun!

HI mate,
not many FD\'s in Germany, maybe just over 100 units or so. It is hard to get the right figures, as the Japanese and the US cars are not registered under the right type in Flensburg.
As we have just few cars in country, we have not many Rotary specialist over here. They are 2 very known and few small workshops which are into Rotary including myself. On the tuning side, there is only 2 of them who can modifie and only one who can tune your car to probably the right level. The most powerfull streat legal Rotary in Germany is 435PS FC3S tuned by myself and is my workshop car. They are some FD\'s with I/C and Apex PowerFC out there, running different tuning levels most of them never exeed 320 horses.
Bring your car into the country and have fun on German Autobahn. If yuo need any service just ask for ABRO who is not to far away from Dusseldorf. If you are more into traveling, you can visit me in munich for any service or modifications.

My auto FD has an Apexi ecu and runs fine, along with induction kit, decat exhaust and after market intercooler. Never had any probs with my mods/ecu regards runnig of the car etc.......cheers Leigh.
